Just got home from a really long day -
It started about 5:30 this morning when I discovered I couldn't sleep anymore. I decided to get up and get it started for the day. Ugh. Sigh. Ick.
After seeing Kati off to the bus (the poor thing has to hike across the property and up a hill at 6:30-ish in the oh-lordie-it's-early am), I tucked into the latest episode online of the BBC series Robin Hood. I love me some Jonas Armstrong :)
After awhile it was time to ready for a fun and exciting day of doctors appointments! The surgery that was scheduled for today, was scheduled incorrectly so it is now Thursday.
John and I saw the rheumatologist, who decided to keep me on the course of treatment I'm currently on, rather than move me to the Rituxin protocol. I honestly can say I don't agree with this decision, but I will wait and see how things go between now and next Friday when I see him again. If need be, I will stand my ground on this other drug. My main concern is mobility. After being in a wheelchair since October, I need to get this part of my life back.
The surgical consult was quick and painless. I love my surgeon. Dr. Colella has done three other surgeries for me, and his manner is so gentle and quiet, his skills so perfect, that I trust him implicitly. So Thursday I will have surgery in the morning and then hemodialysis at the hospital the rest of the day. Sound like fun?
That is the update in a nutshell. Things seem to be moving along well, so we hold our breath and hope for the best ...
