At the moment, the house is alive with the sounds of teenagers all over to celebrate my baby girl's 17th birthday. It is truly a blessing!
In other, less exciting news ....
Friday John and I saw the rheumotolist, who took a slew of xrays and more than half my blood supply, I believe. His feeling is that this is some form of weird rheumatoid arthritis thing, since it came on so very fast. My joints are warm and inflamed, not to mention painful, so we are on a course of Prednisone for two weeks. He hopes to get me at lkeast back on my feet in that time. We have to keep it short because of the potential for weight gain, among other things, and other concerns due to the whole transplant thing.
This coming week, I have the (hopefully) last three tests done before OHSU will start testing living donors. All I want for Christmas is the go ahead for that phase. PLEASE GOD.
Otherwise, life goes on.
How are your Christmas preparations going?
