** ETA: Thanks for all the great suggestions so far! Keep 'em coming! And, if anyone would like a $10.00 coupon to shoebuy.com that Carey was sweet enough to mention below, just leave a comment and I'll send you one through email. (Just make sure to leave me a valid email address).
Ok. Back to shoe shopping!

I used to be a HUGE walker. I loved to walk. Anywhere. Anytime. Fast.
But since I was diagnosed and started dialysis, well, not so much. I tire more easily, and the numbness in my feet is quite annoying when it comes to walking anywhere. Any distance.
Well, the bottom line is ... I need to start walking again.
I know, in my head, I do. But, well, you know.
At this point I'd rather stick a needle in my eye. Or eat soap.
But.
I made a promise that once the weather cooled, I'd start walking again. I promised. Ugh. What was I thinking.
Ok.
I was thinking- that's so far off - everyone will forget.
Uh, nope.
So now, I am needing to step up and keep my word.
Sigh.
Here's where I need help. I need a really great, hopefully kindof inexpensive pair of walking shoes. The pair I have are toast, and offer no support anymore. By the time I walk a couple minutes, my back is screaming.
My preferences are to be barefoot or in flip flops, so buying a good enclosed pair of walking shoes presents a huge challenge for me. I abhor enclosed shoes, always have, always will. Bu, the other great thing about numb feet? You can't keep open shoes on very well. They slide off, and you keep going- without realizing your only wearing one shoe.
In WalMart.
Which then results in a game of "Let's backtrack and find Mommy's shoe".
The kids love it.
Truly.
Ok. Maybe not so much.
If anyone has any great ideas, I'd really appreciate it! The closest thing we have to a shoe store around here is Big %- so websites would be awesome, too!
I thank you.
My feet thank you.
My children thank you.
